Description
In 1876 a thirteen year old girl escapes from danger by hiding in a settler's sled. She is rescued by a small group of Indians. They understand she has the power to travel through time. The Indians believe the girl can move through the light shining through the first glass windows in a solitary structure on the windswept prairie. The people know she is able to see and hear what only the Indians see and hear on the other side of the glass windows. They convince her to move through the light and search for two young Indians who are living in the twenty-first century. These children are stuck in foster care and are about to give up on their life. They think no one can hear their cries for help. The girl must lead them back through the light in the windows, to their ancestors. Their chief desperately needs to meet them, in order to understand the conditions that shape their lonely existence. They challenge him, to do that which seems impossible, and he in turn, leads them to undertake a very dangerous and unusual quest.
